Refund is a service that needs to be enabled by calling in to our team.
Once enabled, you will be supplied with a password. The set up of this enablement can only be done between 9a.m. to 5p.m. (NSW Time).
You can refund the customer the full amount including surcharge (Smartpay will not charge you a fee for doing the refund). Note that surcharge for the original transaction will be returned to the customer.
Need to refund a customer? Just follow the simple steps below.
- On the home screen, tap on ‘Transaction Type’ drop-down for a list of options.
- Tap on ‘Refund’
- Enter the refund amount.
- Tap on ‘EFTPOS’
- Enter the refund password and tap on ‘OK’.
- Card must be Inserted / Swiped. Tap does not work.
- Customers will need to tap on the account and enter their card PIN number.
Smart Tips:
- Refunds should be made to the card used for the original purchase, and the amount refunded shouldn’t exceed the original purchase price.
- Refund password will only be provided after 3 days of normal trading.
