Operational Use: The device is a payment processing terminal only. There is no feature that requires image or video capture.
When is the Scanner Used?
The scanner’s only permitted use is to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
Switching Wi-Fi: When you need to connect your terminal to a different Wi-Fi network (or set it up for the first time), the device will give an option for you to scan a specially generated QR code. Check out our help centre article here to learn more about switching WiFi networks.
How it Works: This QR code contains the secure login credentials (SSID and password) for the new network. Scanning it allows the terminal to securely and automatically configure its new network connection without manually typing passwords. The scanner does not capture images, payment information, or any other data during this process. It simply reads the Wi-Fi configuration string from the QR code.
