If you see “PED Tamper” appear on your Android terminal, that EFTPOS machine is no longer usable for payments. PED Tamper is a security lockout of the system, for the protection of your customers and your business. If this appears, it means your Smartpay terminal needs to be replaced – contact Smartpay to action this. We’ll send you a new terminal to get you up and running again.
PED Tamper happens when something detrimental happens to the terminal. For example, if the terminal is dropped or damaged, suffers water damage or a power surge or if incorrect voltage is supplied to the terminal.
