Technology

We've got a team of technology experts in Tech Ops, Engineering, Digital Product, Cloud, Strategy, and Architecture. They're always bringing their A-game to innovate and make sure our Smartpay solutions are the best they can be.

Customer

We live and breathe great customer service. Our Customer team is the central hub, acting as the main contact for all our merchants. They're quick to answer and resolve any queries, so you can get on with what you do best. Our team includes dedicated Contact Centre specialists, Onboarding Reps, Service Delivery, and our Logistics team, all working hard to ensure everything runs smoothly and our payment solutions get to you without a hitch.

People & Performance

Our People & Performance team has one main goal: to make Smartpay an awesome place to be. They're the ones who go out and find the best people, and then they help us keep them! They work closely with our people leaders, providing advice, coaching, and support to keep everyone engaged and set our teams up for success.

Sales

Our Sales team is all about helping businesses get a better deal on their payment solutions. From the very first chat to getting a new product up and running, we work closely with you every step of the way. Our Sales team are professional, approachable, and know their stuff, making the whole process simple and stress-free.

Marketing

The Marketing team is all about getting the word out. They’re the ones building brand awareness and promoting our payment solutions through various campaigns. They keep a close eye on industry trends, so we can help educate our customers and set their businesses up for success.

Finance & Merchant Settlements

Our Finance team works across the whole business, making sure we're all on the same page with our financial goals. They're the team who keep the books in order and ensure all our financial info is spot on. This team includes our accountants, accounts payable specialists, and the legends in merchant settlements.

Risk & Compliance

The Compliance team is all about keeping things honest and above board. They make sure that all the businesses we partner with are reputable and that we're ticking all the boxes when it comes to regulatory stuff. Working closely with our Merchant Onboarding and Customer Verification teams, they're the ones who guarantee that all your client data is safe, secure and handled according to the best industry standards.

Our Recruitment & Selection Process

Our process generally follows the steps below. However, this may differ depending on the role you are applying for. Our People & Performance Team will provide you with the necessary information to guide you through the process.

1. Apply
Apply for the role you’re interested in using the links provided above.
2. Screening & Initial Phone Interview
If your submitted application is successful, our People & Performance team will reach out to discuss the role with you in detail and ask you some initial questions.
3. Interview
If you’re selected to progress to a formal interview, you’ll meet with the hiring manager and 1-2 other key stakeholders. Some roles involve more than one interview.
4. Reference & Employment Checks
Reference checks, MoJ police checks and other pre-employment checks usually take place following the interview, for preferred candidates.
5. Offer or Outcome
Our People & Performance team will reach out to advise you of the outcome of your application.

You are welcome to email your CV and cover letter with information surrounding your current situation to careers@smartpay.co.nz however please note we don’t keep these on file.

We strive to provide our candidates with an efficient and consistent experience.  During the initial consultation, usually over the phone, we determine what you are looking for and we ask you some initial questions about your application. If there is a good fit between you and the role you applied for, you will be invited for a formal interview with the hiring manager and usually 1-2 other business stakeholders. We provide feedback to all candidates who progress to the interview stage.
