When to switch communications type from 3G to Wi-Fi

Switching communications type can be a quick solution to a host of different problems, including but not limited to:

  • The EFTPOS device won’t connect or is returning a Communications Error
  • Payment processing is taking too long
  • The contactless payment reader is not functioning properly

How to change your communications type from 3G to Wi-Fi

If your terminal is still responsive to inputs, you can try the following method:

  • On the terminal idle screen, tap MENU
  • In the menu, select 7 – MISCELLANEOUS
  • Tap 7 – COMMS SETTINGS
  • Tap 6 – CHANGE COMMS TYPE
  • Tap 7 – COMMS SETTINGS
  • Tap 1 – WIFI
  • Scroll down/up as required using the DOWN and UP arrow keys and select your WiFi network
  • Enter the WiFi network password. Once completed, your terminal will connect to your network.
